Scientific Name: Ceyx erithacaEnglish Name: Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher (Black-backed Kingfisher)Observed in: Windsor Nature ParkLocal Status: Uncommon migrantObserved Timing: Oct-22 当地の野鳥図鑑をパラパラとめくっているととてつもない輝きを放って目に飛び込んでくるのが当種ミツユビカワセミではなかろうか。綺麗に伸びたオレンジ色の嘴、黒く大きな瞳、複雑で美しく光る背中が体長10数センチに絶妙に収まっている。なお、Oriental Dwarf Kingfisherは当種Black-bakced KingfisherとRufous-backed Kingfisherに分化された。当地では当種のみが観察されている。Rufousの方はマレーシアのKL近郊で見ることができた（記録は海外探鳥のページを参照されたい）。
Lembeh (Nov-22)
Birding in the intervals of diving Having stayed in Lembeh Island for diving, I spotted several birds. I explored just a very limited part of the island or around my cottage only indeed. However such the variety of endemic species of Sulawesi are observed. Incredible. Especially an encounter to Great-billed kingfisher is impressive one for me. It comes in early morning on the beach and dive into the sea to catch the fishes. That way is very dynamic since it has a relatively bigger body size, which is almost same as Stoke-billed Kingfisher. ダイビングの合間に観察できた野鳥たち。セレベスと冠する和名を持つ固有種がレンベ島の属するスラウェシ島一帯に多数おります。滞在した宿のコテージ周辺という、ごく狭い範囲の探索でしたが、いくつかを確認することができました。

Since it has a bright yellow, it may have caught your attention even if you are not a Birder. If you go to some park, you can hear its beautiful sounds from the top of trees. Although there are many opportunities for observation, it is difficult to take decent shots because it hides between trees and rarely stays at one place.
